Flamingo Land

Flamingo Land was founded in 1959 by Edwin Pentland Hick, initially as a zoo which later introduced some fairground rides to the park.

With the introduction of the Seaside Adventure area of the park and the Cliffhanger ride in 2002, the park has transformed itself into a fully fledged theme park.

Many of the park’s older fairground style rides have been removed or rethemed and similar efforts have been made to upgrade the zoo.

In more recent years, the park has expanded its offering with a number of flat rides and permanent roller coasters including Kumali and Velocity.

The park is currently engaged in the Flamingo Land Coast project at Scarborough and a further development at Loch Lomond.
