Gulliver’s Valley will be fourth park in the Gulliver’s chain. The park follows the successful parks at Warrington, Milton Keynes, Matlock Bath. The chain is primarily aimed at 2 – 13 year olds.
Set to open in 2020, phase one of the development will include the main Gulliver’s theme park with three themed areas, the entrance hub and a castle structure. The resort will be built at a cost of £35m, will create 450 jobs and be bigger than the firm’s three other parks combined.
To aid the development, the planning board at Rotherham Council has approved a Local Development Order (LDO) – a planning tool brought in by the Government to streamline the planning process and speed up development.
The ecological wetland areas that surround the site are will remain untouched during construction and operation of the park.
