Lightwater Valley

Lightwater Valley date back to 1969, when it opened as a small farm attraction, with strawberry picking and other agricultural pastimes.

After growing the attraction into a theme park, Robert Staveley, then owner of the park decided to bet big. He began work on The Ultimate which was the longest roller coaster ever built when it opened in 1991.

The park continues to flourish with an enviable collection of flat rides and one of the Uk’s most successful Halloween events, Frightwater Valley.

 Did you know?

The UK now has only two operating roller coasters built by the Schwartzkopf company (Raptor Attack at Lightwater Valley and Cannonball Express at Pleasurewood Hills).
