Drayton Manor’s Jungle Cruise ride operated until 2001 when it was replaced by Excalibur – A Dragon’s Tale in 2003, which itself closed in 2011.

The clock tower is the only surviving part of the stately home that once stood at Drayton Manor. The house gave the park its name.

1994 was dubbed ‘The Year of the Roller Coaster’ with the opening of Nemesis at Alton Towers, Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Shockwave at Drayton Manor.

Lots of rides in the UK have been sponsored by soft drinks including the Coca-Cola Roller at the Glasgow Garden Festival, 7UP Shockwave at Drayton Manor, TRAUMAtizer at Pleasureland Southport and the Pepsi Max Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
