With the closure of Pleasureland Southport, the Pleasure Beach company decided not to sell the park’s flagship ride, instead they would bring it to their flagship park, Blackpool Pleasure Beach. TRAUMAtizer was originally built in 1999 and closed with the rest of the park in 2006.
With the closure of the Pleasure Beach Log Flume, the large lake area at the front of the park was vacant and this was to be the home of the relocated ride. Although the ride itself was unchanged, the presentation was to be very different, with the ride positioned almost entirely over water, debuting during the 2007 season.
