Mystique debuted at Blackpool Pleasure Beach on 9th July 1988. Brainchild of Geoffrey Thompson, it was produced by Gloria Gee, choreographed by Phil Winston and the illusions featured in the show were masterminded by John Wardley.
The possibility of John Wardley helping produce a magic show at the Pleasure Beach came about from a chance conversation between Wardley and Thompson at the grand opening of Chessington World of Adventures.
Although in the theme park community, John is largely known for his work at Alton Towers and Chessington (among others), magic and the theatre was where he learnt his craft.
