The Pleasureland Southport Cyclone was built in 1937 and was the largest attraction at the park until the introduction of TRAUMAtizer in 1999. It ran until the park’s final day in 2006.
Built by Charlie Paige, of the Philadelphia Toboggan Company, Paige was also responsible some of the Pleasure Beach‘s most notable rides.
Here we have a wonderful video from Theme Park Family World Wide shot in 1992.
The Pleasure Beach company’s commercial arm ‘Blackpool Leisure Amusement Consultancy’ built a clone of the ride at Nicco Park at Kolkata, West Bengal, India, in 2003.
