The Tussauds parks had been creating brands for each of their large projects throughout the 1990s and would ‘tease’ new projects up to a year before opening. When working on a new flying roller coaster for 2002 at Alton Towers Air was chosen as the rides name and a comparatively ‘bright and breezy’ brand was adopted for the ride.
During the 2001 season after Submission had launched, the park began teasing the following year’s new attraction with various promotional materials and a large model of the ride appeared on Towers Street.
